Just a bit of a heads up for those applying. In no way shape or form should you apply for this position if you are not going to be active, or think that there may be something causing you to not be active.
A medicine cat SHOULD be active constantly due to the fact that things ALWAYS happen in our role plays where characters get hurt, and there's no medicine cat around. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
If we find there to be a problem with activity from the medicine cat/s then WE WILL DEMOTE EVEN WITHOUT A WARNING to someone else that can appropriately take this role.
Currently the available medicine cat spots are open for:
SproutClan: CLOSED CloverClan: CLOSED Coven: [Please read below]
Yes the Coven is ALSO seeking medics. We require 2 fully trained and skilled medics. However, because we are such a strictly closed group, this position is exclusive and will take more time to choose and fill. As such, those applying may not get a response right away, and may take up to a week before we decide. There are also certain requirements these medics must fill in order to join our Cluster. 1: Both Medics must be able to role play and keep themselves busy. 2: Both medics must specialize in something within their field. [Be creative on this one. I'm not going to explain it.] 3: Both medics must be highly realistic with their herbs/storage and usage.
If you think you have what it takes to be a Medicine cat, please fill out the form below. [Coven cats please scroll to the bottom of this application, your application is different.] Medicine Cats are required to post this application in the comments below.
FeralHeart Username: Desired Character name: Desired Clan: Medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice?: About the character:
Activity scale [1-10]: Is there something that may require you to not be active?:
Current Role Play/s: Are you staff in any role plays currently?: Have you been a medicine cat before, if so where?:
Please realistically provide a role play sample of your cat treating an injured kit who has climbed on top of a high ledge, has fallen and may have twisted his paw, as well as have a few cuts on his pelt. He is crying loudly, and he is frightened. His mother is openly blaming StarClan.
Please respond to these scenarios as best as possible. You being a staff member, due to you being a medicine cat.
A new member has joined, they assumingly passed the role play sample and were let in by your leader. Even after they claimed to have read the rules, this member begins to role play in wolfspeak. Using words like "banner, auds, crania, and even pillars" How do you respond?
A member is on the watched list for the possibility of mate begging one of the other members. After they were warned by the leader [as records show in the board] you find them "slyly" hinting at one of the members not listed on the board. While the person seems unfazed by the "mate begging" it's clear that they're doing the very thing the thread warns you about. How do you respond?
New kits are born, and it's been almost two days since they were conceived. Meaning they can now half walk, see, and even start speaking. Basically, their personalities are starting to develop. You notice one is role playing their character "seeing dead cats as ghosts. They are whispering him and telling him to train to over throw the leader." After a few seconds, he claimingly catches a live mouse and "brutally slaughters it". How do you respond?
Are there any questions for the staff you may have?
Thanks for applying! ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Again, the Coven is pretty hard to get in to. While we will review all applications closely, we will be pretty picky in the long run. All applicants must send their audition to Joker's PM Good luck.
While we cannot aid you in any more information, we ask that you be creative when filling out certain segments.
FeralHeart Username: Desired Character Name [Must be of a natural or human based name]: Special Talent/Master of: Loner born, Clan cat born, or Coven born?: Birth place: About the character:
Activity scale [1-10]: Is there something that may require you to not be active?:
Current Role Play/s: Are you staff in any role plays currently?: Have you been a medicine cat before, if so where?:
Please fill out the scenarios to your best ability, providing that with this rank means you will be considered staff in this role play.
After a bloody fight between a member and the famous Animal, the victim of Animal comes to you with his fur ripped off in noticeable patches, he is bleeding heavily, and he is panting as if it's hard for him to breathe. This cat is quite literally a mess. Please provide a sample as to how your character would go about healing this mess.
A Coven member finds a kit from one of the nearby clans, and sneaked it into the Asylum to have your character check it over. It was lost, and pretty weak. However, knowing clan cats were strictly forbidden to enter Coven lands, you hesitate to heal them. In the end, please role play respond how your character would respond to having a weak clan kit in front of you. Whether it be staying loyal to the laws, or going against them to save this kit.
A new Coven member has joined the ranks with the ability to swim. They seem pretty nice, but they soon leave to wander the area alone. Only to find out soon enough they had attacked a clan patrol by water, and apparently drowned one of their members without consent. Without any of the Coven leaders on at the time, you are the only one there to take care of the problem. How do you respond?
An older Coven member recently has been seen "specializing" in a talent that isn't their ranked talent. They are a night stalker, but now they are apparently mastering Spirit Tongue, which is strictly off limits to anyone but a certain few. They are seen talking to a Devil, which the only one can be Smiles who is 100% owned by Joker. How do you respond?
Are there any comments, concerns, or questions you have for me?
Thanks for applying!

FeralHeart Username: sherrehcat Desired Character name: Quiettail Desired Clan: SproutClan Medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice?: Medicine Cat About the character: Quiettail is a calico tabby mix who was born prematurely and as a result, she doesn't have a voice. She is a kind and gentle cat and very much cares for her clan members. Even though she is kind, sometimes when she interacts with new cats she meets, she feels a bit awkward having to try and explain why she couldn't speak to them. Her specialties are in balance and stealth. She is very knowledgeable about herbs though sometimes she learns new uses for them.
Activity scale [1-10]: 8-9 Is there something that may require you to not be active?: I don't have anything that would make me not active.
Current Role Play/s: No Current role plays Are you staff in any role plays currently?: No Have you been a medicine cat before, if so where?: Yes. I have been in various warrior cat role plays where I have been the medicine cat to include The Dawn Warriors and The Great Forest.
Please realistically provide a role play sample of your cat treating an injured kit who has climbed on top of a high ledge, has fallen and may have twisted his paw, as well as have a few cuts on his pelt. He is crying loudly, and he is frightened. His mother is openly blaming StarClan.
The washed out calico tabby she-cat would flick her ears as she sorted her herbs. It was a quiet day until she heard the shrill cry of a young cat coming into her den. With a piece of yarrow in her mouth, Quiettail looked up to find Jayheart, a white and black she-cat walking in with her young nearly apprentice kit who was squealing a bit in pain. The medicine cat could see the way the kit held it's back leg up in the air as he came in. I could also see the few minor wounds on his body. Quiettail turned her attention to the mother. "My kit has fallen down the hill. How could StarClan let something like this happen to my kit?! Aren't they supposed to protect us?!" The medicine cat listened to the ranting mother who was upset about the predicament. Quiettail looked down at the kit and smiled kindly before gesturing towards a nearby nest. Still wailing and bristling his little fur, he lied down on the nest. The medicine cat would move to the kit and lightly touched her muzzle to his cheek. In her kind way, she nuzzled and licked the kit a few times to assure him that it would be alright. The crying lessened into whining and Quiettail smiled kindly as she turned back to her herbs and found some catmint, comfrey, yarrow, a leaf and a few nettles. When she turned back to the young kit, she offered the catmint to him. He seemed weary about it until the medicine cat smiled assuringly to him. He was slow to chew on the herb, but it slowly started to calm him down. Quiettail was happy to see the kit becoming more calm and so she turned to check the injured limb. She lightly pawed at it to which the kit squeaked with pain. A small sprain, the she-cat would think before looking up at Jayheart. Quiettail smiled to the mother who looked worried as ever. "Is it bad? It's bad isn't it. I knew StarClan hated us. They have forsaken my kit." Immediately, she shook her head to the mother and lifted her paw to the she-cat's shoulder. Her other paw pointed to the kit's paw and she shook her head. It was an easy fix. Quiettail proceeded to flick her tail and body around to tell the she-cat that her kit would only have to stay in her den until night fell. "So, why did StarClan let this happen to my kit?" The medicine cat took a breath and looked toward the sky. Her paws lifted and waved across the sky and then she motioned as best she could to tell the cat that StarClan didn't cause her kit to fall from the hill. It was only an accident and that it could have been worse. StarClan keeps everything in balance and cares for all cats. Seeming relieved, Jayheart flicked her ear and say to watch Quiettail fix her kit. The medicine cat would smile at this before she put the comfrey in her mouth to chew it into a poultice. Once it was ready, she spit it into her paw and began to carefully spread it around the sprained paw. The kit flinched against her paw, but Quiettail was patient and proceeded slowly for the young kit. When that was finished she wrapped the paw in the leaf and secured it with a nettle to both keep it in place and to keep the kit from removing it. Then she put the yarrow in her mouth, chewing it thoroughly, ignoring the tastes she felt. Again she spit the poultice into her paw and carefully massaged it into the few minor scrapes that the kit had sustained. The kit was compliant and seemed more calm now that he was being helped. Quiettail smiled kindly to the kit as she fixed a nettle in the areas she placed the yarrow poultice so that the kit wouldn't lick it away. When she was finished, she gave the kit a kind nuzzle to the cat and then pointed to the sun which was now at sunhigh. She covered her eyes to the sun and then looked at the kit as he giggled at her movements. "You only have to stay here until sundown my dear," Jayheart would say as she nuzzled her kit also. "Okay," he chirped, his mood improving from when he came into the den. Quiettail smiled kindly and grabbed a piece of moss and trotted out of the den. She found a nearby water source and dipped the moss in so that it was soaked. Then she returned to her den and lied the wet moss next to the kit so they could have something to drink. Quiettail gave a soft purr sound before she turned and sat with the herbs she had, making a note of which ones she would need to collect in her next herb gathering.
I would address them about their wolfspeak in whisper and inform them that it is not allowed in the role play. I would also question whether they saw that rule. I would also ask them who they sent their original role play sample to to get an idea from the person who took it on the role play ability of the individual. I'll have strong suspicions that they didn't and I will send them that way while also making a note of the incident for the other staff members of the role play if they are not present.
I would take to whisper with them and let them know that that kind of behavior is not allowed and direct them towards the site where they can see that it is not allowed. I would then inform another staff member of the issue so that it can be dealt with further.
I would make a point to tell them that a kit at that age would not be able to understand anything that a 'ghost' would be saying. I would give them an idea of what the cat would be able to do at that age and if they get huffy about it, I will direct them to the site to read the rules about what they can and cannot do. I would also report the incident to a higher staff member.
